Val X WPC Line-up
The standard, most popular Val-X protein powder is their WPC or whey protein concentrate. They come in typical 1 kg packs in about 14 flavors. There is no plain flavor and all flavors use a combination of different synthetic sweeteners. More popular flavors like chocolate, banana, pineapple and matcha can come in 2kg and 3kg packs. You can try all the flavors if you buy a variety pack with sachets.
A couple of more original flavor are almond tofu, Valencia orange, and lemonade. The sweeteners used are the following:
- アスパルテーム or aspartame
- スクラロース or sucralose
These are combined with L-フェニルアラニン化合物 or L-phenylalanine which is a type of amino acid. The lemonade and bean flavors use stevia [ステビア] and sucralose, while macha has only sucralose.
Val X WPI Pro Powders
If you’re looking for a high-quality WPI for either training or health related reasons, Val X is a good choice. The Plain Flavor has no additive at all, including any kind of sweetener. The protein content is the highest at 96.4%.
Chocolate, strawberry, matcha, litchi yogurt, and banana flavors all use stevia and sucralose as a combined sweetener. If you buy a set of two or three packs, you get a slightly better price.
Val X Soy Protein Powder
Soy protein, because of its zero fat content is marketed as their ‘Dieter Support’ protein. Fortunately, there is a plain flavor with no sweeteners or additives, so straight up soy protein powder. The soy bean powder is sourced from both the US and China.
Flavors include: Chocolate, banana, mango, Houji tea, caramel, coconut milk, and black sugar kinako.
Soy + Why Protein Powders
A more kind of unique Val X product range are their whey and soy combined protein powders. These are also marketed as a ‘diet protein’ and have additional inulin fiber added. They have a slightly smoother and richer taste compared to the average plant-based or soy protein powder.

- 5 flavors
- Inulin fiber
- 73-75 kcal per 20g serving
- 13.9 g protein per 20g
